suppliers to deliver inventory management and/or transport services to support the efficient and effective management of the national medical stockpile. the successful tenderer/s will be required to manage, deploy and transport inventory in the national medical stockpile during business as usual periods and during emergencies. a tenderer may tender to deliver both inventory management services and transport services, or only inventory management services or transport services. this is a unique and rare opportunity for commercial entities to operate in the health emergency management field. the department is seeking to procure these services from 1 july 2020 for a period of six years with the option for the department, at its sole discretion, to extend for up to an additional four years.
contracted entities will provide assessment management services for the trial, specifically to: attract, recruit, onboard and retain suitably qualified registered nurses, physiotherapists and occupational therapists as assessors during the trial and provide evidence to the department that each assessor has current unrestricted ahpra registration liaise with participating aged care homes for the purpose of scheduling assessment periods and complete the agreed number of assessments using the an-acc assessment tool hosted on an associated ipad application ipad to be supplied by the department develop and operate a clinical support framework for assessors to ensure the quality of assessments, and provide feedback to the department throughout the trial as required. the department requires around 5600 assessments to be completed as part of the trial, to be distributed as follows: 4000 assessments of residents of aged care homes in modified monash model mm regions 1-2 1500 assessments of residents of aged care homes in mm regions 3-5, and 100 assessments of residents of aged care homes in mm regions 6-7. tenderers are invited to submit a tender to deliver services for part, parts, or the whole services: in multiples of 1000 assessments in mm regions 1-2 in multiples of 500 assessments in mm regions 3-5, and in multiples of 50 assessments in mm regions 6-7. tenderers must also clearly outline any limits on specific geographic areas in which they are willing to provide services. the department may, at its sole and absolute discretion, select one or more tenderers to provide services in each geographic area. the department may seek to negotiate with a preferred tenderer the geographic area or areas in which the tenderer will complete the assessments.
property and major contracts division proposes to engage a design and construct contractor to undertake infrastructure upgrades at the brisbane immigration transit accommodation bita facility. it is planned that the works will commence in december 2019 and be completed in march 2020. recent increases in the bita detainee population, a trend towards a higher security cohort, and subsequent changes to the site operating model have driven the requirement for the following proposed infrastructure upgrades: • retrofit installation of an anti-climb barrel fence topper to the existing bita perimeter fence approximately 250 linear metres; • installation of new pedestrian gates in existing bita fence lines; and • construction of new covered structures over main staff thoroughfare between the site processing centre and administration buildings.
